Harry Styles Drops Disco-Tinged LP

Returning with first full length in four years, Harry Styles releases Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.

Following the massive success of Harry’s House in 2022, the superstar singer/songwriter’s brand new 12-track collection signifies a shift into a more reflective, disco-tinged sound that signifies a looser, more atmospheric approach to his music.

Recorded largely in Berlin, the lead single ‘Aperture,’ sets the tone for the album’s introspective streak.

‘Are You Listening Yet? ‘ is one of the LP’s more emotional titles, evoking the retrospective tone Styles has embraced this era.

Previewed by Fred Again … at his recent London show, ‘Coming Up Roses,’ offers a brighter palette on the surface, but Harry complicates the optimism implied by the phrase.

By the time the record reaches ‘Dance No More,’ the UK born musician shifts into a more contemplative space.

A character-driven piece that stands apart from the more personal material, the album closes with ‘Carla’s Song,’ the identity of which fans have speculated, though Harry’s kept deliberately vague.

Addressing Berlin’s electronic music scene spirit of his full length, the 32-year old recalled being struck by the sense of unity and individuality on the dance floor, stating:

Harry told Runner’s World UK: “Good electronic music is so good, you know — especially the melodic aspect. When you’re out at night, it’s such a community, but you’re also watching people have such individual experiences… I wanted to recreate [what] I had on the dance floor, being lost in instrumentation and the musicality. It was so immersive, like, this is how I want to feel when I’m on stage too. I don’t want it to feel like a sermon I’m delivering. I wanted it to feel like, oh, we’re in this music together. Like I’m in it with you.”
