On Wednesday (9.02,) Gary Glitter pleaded not guilty to eight charges of historical sex offenses.
Born Paul Gadd, the embattled Rock and Roll singer, appeared at London’s Southwark Crown Court via video link denying charges against him, including four charges of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child and two counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.
According to BBC News, the now 82-year-old musician said he was “absolutely not guilty” of two of the charges, and repeated “not guilty” to the remaining six.
Allegedly taking place at Gadd’s home in London’s Kensington neighborhood between March 12 of 1978 and December 31 of 1981, all of the charges pertain to one girl who was between eight and eleven years old at the time.
The allegations were first reported to the Metropolitan Police in January of 2025. Gadd was first interviewed in relation to the subsequent investigation in July of that year, after which Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced the charges . He was remanded in custody after the hearing.
Expected to last three weeks, Judge Tony Baumgartner scheduled the trial for November 22 of 2027.
