A Persian term of endearment which means “my dear” or “my beloved, for his next single ‘Azizam,’ Ed Sheeran was inspired by his wife Cherry Seaborn, the mother of his two daughters Lyra (4,) and Jupiter (2.)
The superstar singer/songwriter’s new single is titled which comes complete with a music video featuring comic Omin Djalili filmed in south London.
In a recent interview with The Sun on Sunday, a reliable source told the UK newspaper’s Bizarre column:
“Ed can’t wait for everyone to hear the new record – mainly because it’s inspired by Cherry and their love affair.” “A huge budget has been thrown at the video, which features a stunning wedding and none other than Omid.” “They all had such a fun time making the video and can’t wait to release it into the world.”
Though there is no confirmed release date for his forthcoming single, on Valentine’s Day (2.14), the 34-year-old musician shared a photo of Cherry, captioned with a red heart emoji and the word “Azizam”.
Earlier this month, Sheeran appeared to confirmed his next full length will be called Play.
Following the superstar’s series of mathematical symbol-titled LPs – ‘+’, ‘x’, ‘÷’, ‘=’ and ‘-‘ – a fan asked if Ed was going to drop a similarly-themed album, to which he suggested that Play will be the follow up to 2023’s Autumn Variations.
Ed previously confirmed his next record is complete, and in an interview with Variety he said “It feels like I’m getting back into big pop for the first time in a long time.”
