Dionne Warwick Blasts Reporters For Cutting Off Babyface Interview: Look + Listen

Dionne Warwick and Khloé Kardashian have taken Grammys red carpet reporters to task after they abruptly cut off an interview with Babyface in an attempt to speak to Chappell Roan.

Born Kenneth Edmonds, the superstar singer/songwriter and record producer was in the middle of an interview with The Associated Press on the Grammy red carpet when one of the reporters called out to the Roan who was standing behind him.

Forever the gentleman, Babyface politely told the journalists “You guys wanna take that? Go do that then,” as he handed back his microphone and walked away.

Footage of the inappropriate incident went viral on social media subsequent to which Warwick weighed in on the conversation and reposted the footage with the caption “13x Grammy Award winning Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds? Am I seeing this correctly?”

The now 84-year-old iconic songstress then shared a screenshot of the dictionary definition of “decorum” and tagged the agency.

When a social media follower suggested that perhaps the journalists didn’t know “all of the classics” Babyface has written, Dionne simply replied, “And you shouldn’t be on that carpet unless you do.”

In addition to Warwick, Babyface “forever fan” Kardashian told her X followers that he was a pioneer and “a class act” who “deserves so much better” than that “disrespectful” encounter, writing:

“Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry, in sooo many ways. Its maddening to see a LEGEND not get the respect and attention they deserve (sic).” “PS big or small, old or new, – you don’t treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There’s a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion.”

Later in the evening, reporter Krysta Fauria apologized for the interview telling AP viewers, “I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier. Chappell Roan had come up and there was a lot of commotion as there is on these carpets. But I’m a big Babyface fan, as are we all. And I just wanted to say that I really apologize.”

At press time, Babyface has yet to publicly comment on the interruption.
