In celebration of the winter holiday season, Diane Keaton has released “First Christmas,” her first-ever solo single.
Addressing the holiday season alone after losing a lover, the superstar actress who sang onscreen in Annie Hall and So It Goes, “First Christmas” is an emotional ballad sung over piano and strings from the Stockholm Symphony.
Originally co-written by Carole Bayer Sager and Jonas Myrin, Keaton said:
“When Carole and Jonas first played me ‘First Christmas,’ I got teary.” “It is such a beautiful sentiment, and I couldn’t wait to sing it. I’m very proud to be a part of this beautiful Christmas song, and I hope you enjoy it.”
Not her first foray in recorded music, in 2023 Diane released “Anywhere With You,” a collaborative song with the rest of her Book Club: The Next Chapter cast called
50 years into her career, Diane Keaton has been extremely busy these last few years.
In 2024 the thespian starred in Summer Camp alongside Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard, as well as the British comedy Arthur’s Whisky. She also has up to four movies in pre-production, including The Making Of alongside Blake Lively and Richard Gere.
