For the finale of ‘Resident Evil’ deadmau5 and Skylar Grey join forces on “My Heart Has Teeth.”
In a statement about the collaborative effort, Deadmau5 (born Joel Thomas Zimmerman) said “Dystopian suburbia is the kind of vibe I had in mind when making this song.” “It’s been pretty cool because I like that weird, corporate overtone of this entity that owns the village, if you would. I just imagine what that would be like while roughly composing the song with, of course, the vocal accoutrement of Ms. Skylar Grey. She’s an amazing talent to work with, and she just nailed the lyrics.”
Atypical of his signature electronic sound, the Canadian superstar deejay/producer/artists’s latest work-for-hire is a down-tempo contribution to the new Netflix series that reflects electro-pop fusion reflective of Resident Evil‘s action-adventure-horror genre.
The musician’s mau5trap record label head is preparing for his “We Are Friends” tour, that kicks off at The Met in Philadelphia on July 15, and the full list of tour dates here.
