Daft Punk‘s official split earlier this year would afford the visionary producers more time to pursue their own independent projects and Thomas Bangalter has already embarked on his next solo project.
Over the years Bangalter has worked on several film scores – including TRON: Legacy, Irréversible, Riga, and Climax – and now one half of the former helmeted-duo will be expanding his production expertise into the ballet realm with the score for Mythologies.
Scheduled to to take place from July 1 thru 10, 2022 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France, the 90-minute ballet will see the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine performing Bangalter’s score alongside Romain Dumas musical direction. Choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj, the ballet “explores contemporary rituals and the founding myths that shape the collective imagination,” according to the ballet’s website.
