On Sunday (6.12) country music superstar Toby Keith confirmed his stomach cancer diagnosis.
Taking to social media the multi-award winning musician announced that he had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer for the past six months, writing:
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer.” “I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good.”
Following announcement and the cancellation of his July 28 Ohio State Fair concert, Toby told fans that he needed “time to breathe, recover and relax.”
At press time, Fox News Digital was unclear whether additional shows will be cancelled or postponed, as Keith has been performing throughout his diagnosis, treatment, and recovery process.
The 60-year-old musician reassured fans, “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”
