Due to a ruptured eardrum, Cody Johnson has cancelled the rest of his 2025 shows.

Nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the upcoming Country Music Association Awards (CMAs), the Texas-born country musician took to social media with the news that he needs to undergo immediate surgery:

“While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum.” “The healing process will take many weeks.” “and it is not possible for me to sing during this time.”  “I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love.”

With six remaining 2025 dates during his current arena tour, Johnson’s now scheduled to return to the road on February 14 2026, followed by a headlining stint at the Stagecoach festival in Indio, California in April.

Until now, Cody’s had a successful few years with his latest LP, Leather, winning CMA’s Album of the Year in 2024. In addition to being up for 2025’s Entertainer of the Year, the 38-year old singer/songwriter is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for ‘I’m Gonna Love You’ featuring Carrie Underwood.
