It’s official! Cher has been added to the list of superstars performing at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
On Wednesday (11.01,) the iconic department store company confirmed that the, now 77 year old singer is scheduled to close out the televised event that will air on November 23 from 8:30am to 12:00pm EST on NBC-TV.
As is customary during the parade that marks the official beginning of the Christmas season, the pop star will appear towards the latter part of the broadcast, when Santa arrives in his sleigh.
Born Cherilyn Sarkisian, Cher is the latest addition to this year’s talent lineup that will include Jon Batiste, ENHYPEN, Brandy, David Foster and Katharine McPhee, Pentatonix, En Vogue and more.
The Macy’s parade announcement came days after Cher’s first-ever Christmas album, Christmas, that was released on 20 October.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Cher stated “They’re not ‘Christmas Christmas’ songs, OK, they’re just great songs.” “And I never say that because I almost never like what I do. But I mean people love it and I’m happy. I’m so particular, but I love the songs and everyone who hears them loves them.”
