Céline Dion Returns To The Stage

Marking her long-awaited return to the stage, on Saturday (9.12,) Céline Dion kicked off her Paris residency.

Having endured an ongoing battle with stiff person syndrome, the iconic songstress fought back tears as she performed her biggest hits.

In a video shared to Instagram, the now 5-year old singer was visibly emotional, singing through tears as the crowd applauded on the first night of a 26-date run at the Paris La Défense Arena.

Taking a moment to address her emotions, the Grammy winner told the audience, “I promised not to cry. Tonight I want to sing for you, for me, for life.” “Finally.” “It’s amazing we’re all together. I made a promise. I made a promise to come back and be back on stage.”

Before delivering a heartfelt rendition of her 1996 classic ‘Because You Loved Me,’ the native Canadian thanked her fans for their support and patience

Céline Dion was originally diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in December of 2022, the medical issues of which forced her to cancel her Courage world tour in May 2023, after which she put her career on hold in order to focus on her health.
