Taking to her social media on Wednesday (12.24,) Céline Dion transformed herself into the Grinch for a fun holiday video along with the caption “Silent night? Not on my watch…”
In the minute long video, the superstar singer dons a full costume, green facial prosthetics, and red contact lenses to resemble the Dr. Seuss character a la Jim Carey in the 2000 comedy film, How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The holiday scene is set with Dion sitting in a chair with a small dog on her lap along side fireplace as she begins to sing her 1996 hit, ‘All by Myself,’ before starting a rant about the joyful residents of Whoville, stating:
“The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me on such short notice. Even if I wanted to go, my schedule wouldn’t allow it.” “Four o’clock, exercise my voice. 4:30, wake my children up. 5 o’clock, solve world hunger: tell no one. 5:30, jazzercize. 6:30, dinner with me, I can’t cancel that again! 7 o’clock, wrestle with my creative ideas. I’m booked!” “Of course, if I bumped my creative ideas to nine, I’ll still have time to lay in bed and scroll TikTok videos endlessly. Or I can just simply wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year… boring!”
To close the video, Celine’s grumpy Grinch persona sings the lyrics, “When I was young, I never needed anyone…”
