Scheduled for a Friday (7.16) release, Cardi B and Normani have come together on their “Wild Side” collaboration.
In support of the musical alliance Cardi wrote: “The world is ready for Normani supremacy !!!! (sic)” with the Fifth Harmony singer adding: “Okay soooooo I just watched the video again… sis what the actual f*** (sic)”
Normani’s first single in two years, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker praised the musical alliance and hinting that fans might be surprised by what they hear as she took to her Instagram Story page to say: “You guys are going to see Normani in a different light. I feel like this is [her] big comeback and I want you guys to treat it like its her birthday. This song is amazing. I’m just so proud of her.”
Back in March, Normani tweeted “wow… the record I’m making right now (sic)” as she continues to work on her highly anticipated debut solo album and admitted her new tunes sounded “way better” when she stopped trying to conform. She explained: “For a long time, I was stressed out about checking boxes like, ‘Is this black enough? Is this pop enough?’ But music started feeling way better when I just went into the studio with the mentality of being Normani.”
In more Cardi B-related news, the former stripper-turned-mega rap star has turned on “white twinks” accusing them of instigating fights between fans of female stars.
On Wednesday (7.14), the “WAP” singer took to Twitter and called out her devotees and those of her peers for baiting fans with disrespectful notes, writing: “White twinks on this app are weird. You don’t dictate people’s action. I said what I said and I’m not taking it back!!! Ya love to hide behind Black female artist peoples on your avi and be the ones saying the most disrespectful s**t about women and dictating their moves and start war between female artist fans ALWAYS (sic)!” “Now let’s be nice shall we? Let’s experience greatness and gagging sessions in peace.”
Unclear as to what sparked her latest social media outburst, the now-pregnant Cardi B was targeted earlier this week for purchasing a $150,000 diamond necklace as a third birthday present for her daughter Kulture. Responding to the backlash, Cardi insisted she will do whatever it takes to ensure that her daughter with husband Offset – is “fly.”
“When your kid want ice cream for dinner do you give them ice cream for dinner?” she asked. “My baby is overly spoiled with toys & super educated. If mommy & daddy fly then so is my kids. F**k I look like being fly a*s f**k and my kid not (sic).”
