Amazon Studios’ has released the first trailer for the musical version of Cinderella starring Camila Cabello and a slew of other notable stars.
“That’s it. My name will be recognized by everyone soon” says Cinderella, played by Camila Cabello, during the Amazon Prime teaser. “Ella designed the dresses. Life outside of this basement starts right now.” While numerous scenes from the Amazon original film flash on the screen, backed by music, Billy Porter as the fairy godmother asks Cinderella whether she wants to attend to the fabled ball at the end of the 50-second film. She answers, “Yes, I was just crying and singing about it like two minutes ago,”
Amazon claims that “Cinderella is a fresh new musical twist on the classic fairy tale you grew up with. Our heroine (Cabello) is a driven young woman with larger aspirations than the world will allow, yet she is able to endure and achieve her goals with the aid of her Fab G (Billy Porter).”
Cinderella is directed by Kay Cannon and stars Camila Cabello as Cinderella, Billy Porter as Fab G, Idina Menzel as Cinderella’s stepmother Vivian, Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Robert, Minnie Driver as Queen Beatrice, Pierce Brosnan as King Rowan, and James Corden and John Mulaney as the mice James and John. The video will be available on Amazon Prime Video on September 3rd.
