Camila Cabello Drops ‘I Luv It’: Look + Listen

On Wednesday (3.27,) Camila Cabello formally releasd “I Luv It,” the first single off her upcoming LP.

Concurrent her controversial image transition, that started when she chose to go bleach blonde, in a recent press interview, the superstar singer said:

“Certain things in our human realm do make me feel like I’m in outer space, and the very rare few times where I’ve had incredible chemistry with someone is one of them,” “Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, and the chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion. It’s unsustainable and not peaceful and exhausting, but also, I luv it.”

In support of her latest single, the Nicolás Méndez-directed video stars with Cabello eating chocolate cake before displaying different scenes of the chanteuse in different nightmare sequences: sprinting away from dogs, getting beat up in a wrestling match, holding onto a palm tree, and getting into a car accident, as she sings “Super twisted, sick addicted/Kiss me hard, someday you’ll miss this/Seein’ stars, oh my God.” Meeting up with Playboi Carti inside a bodega, the video fast-forwards to Cabello dancing to the song while wearing a blindfold.

When Camila repeats “Lemons on the chain with the V-cuts” in the post chorus, “I Luv It” features a sample from Gucci Mane‘s “Lemonade.”

After taking to social media with images of her new blonde look, Cabello began teasing “I Luv It” for weeks and also posed for photos with Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler when he wore a jersey with the song’s title on the back.

Concurrent with appearing on the cover of Paper, at which time she revealed her involvement with Rosalía producer El Guincho, the former Fifth Harmony singer stopped by Call Her Daddy  to address her split from Shawn Mendes and former girl group, saying “It felt like they were still really passionate and into that, so I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore. It doesn’t feel aligned,’” about the latter breakup.

In November, Cabello spoke to Rolling Stone about the possibility of forthcoming music, adding “I’m always scheming, but I won’t say too much about it because I love a calculated surprise.” “I can’t say anything,”

Featuring songs “Psychofreak” with Willow, “Bam Bam” with Ed Sheeran, and “Don’t Go Yet” Camilla Cabello released her last album Familia in 2022,
