In an intimate at-home ceremony attended by some 60 guests, including Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Donatella Versace, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari married yesterday in Los Angeles.
Following five years of dating after they had met on the set of the pop star’s 2016 “Slumber Party” music video, the celebrity couple announced their engagement last September.
Spears recalling their initial spark during a 2017 radio interview, per People, the musician recalled saying “I was like, ‘He was really cute, this guy was really cute,’ so I called him,” “He’s just a really fun, funny person.”
In 2021, when Spears endured the highly publicized legal battle to end her 13-year conservatorship, fans praised Asghari for standing by her side throughout the contentious process.
In a 2022 Valentine’s Day Instagram tribute Spears wrote “This man has been with me through it all.” “I don’t know what I would do without him so I think I will keep him around a bit longer.”
In a 2021 interview with Men’s Health, Asghari publicly gushed about his love for Spears sating “I just want her to be happy. If something makes her happy, I’ll do it. I’m not going to argue. What’s that saying? ‘Happy wife, happy life.'”
