On Tuesday (3.29,) Blackpink member, Jisoo released a teaser for “Flower.” her forthcoming debut solo single.
Jisoo is the last member of Blackpink – including Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie – to come out as a stand alone artist. Jennie released “Solo” in 2018, Rosé pulled the trigger her LP R in 2021, and Lisa dropped several single, “Lalisa,” “Money,” and “SG” with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion in 2021.
In a Blackpink cover story last summer with Rolling Stone, Jisoo (born Kim Ji-soo) addressed her hesitancy in making solo music, stating:
“I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet.” “The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do — what should I choose? I love songs with lots of instruments. I love different bands and rock music.” “What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of conflicting questions.”
During Blackpink’s 2022 world tour, Jisoo opened the solos portion of the group’s show by covering “Liar” by Camila Cabello, who later joined her onstage in Los Angeles for a duet of the track.
