Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for a temporary restraining order against his newly estranged wife, Firerose.
After she allegedly racked up $96,986 in unauthorized charges over several weeks, the country musician and father of Miley (Cyrus) has sought to stop his spouse from using his credit cards.
On Thursday (6.13,) weeks after filing for divorce, the now 62-year singer filed an emergency motion at a Tennessee court seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent his estranged wife from any “unauthorized” use of his personal and business credit cards and accounts.
According to the paperwork, the 37-year-old ‘ex’ (born Johanna Rose Hodges,) spent some $100,000 over the course of 37 unauthorized charges on his business account, including $70,665 in legal fees.
In an affidavit, Billy wrote “As a result of these fraudulent charges… I am concerned that Ms. Hodges is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts.”
The filing alleges the credit card charges began to accrue the day Billy Ray applied for a divorce nearly seven months after they were wed. Lawyers for Firerose responded by sayingt that his wife was merely continuing to live as she had during their marriage, writing:
“To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue.” “Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”
