Scheduled to tour throughout 2025 and into 2026, Billy Joel has been forced to cancel his plans over health issues.
The now 76-year-old, legendary musician has been on his rolling In Concert world tour since 2014 yet upcoming dates have been cancelled after the superstar singer/songwriter was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) – a condition which causes fluid to build within the brain which in turn can affect cognitive ability and movement.
Confirming the cancellation of his forthcoming dates, Joel took to took to his Instagram account with “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”
A formal press release revealed that Billy’s health condition had been “exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.” “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.” “Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.” “He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”
Billy Joel had planned to share his stage with other music icons including Rod Stewart, Sting, and Stevie Nicks, and refunds have been issued to all ticket holders.
