On Wednesday (6.28,) Becky G released her latest single “La Nena” in collaboration with Mexican singer-songwriter Gabito Ballesteros.
Produced by Edgar Barrera and Ballesteros, the warm weather track follows “The Fire Inside” released earlier this month as part of the soundtrack to the Eva Longoria-directed film Flamin’ Hot.
In a press release about ‘La Nena.’ the singer’s newest offering provides a glimpse into Becky G’s upcoming full length, as “the lyrics tell the story of a woman who is empowered and chooses to continue dancing through life despite having her heart broken.”
Directed by Santiago Lafee, the music video for her new single marks Becky G’s first attempt as creative director along with Daniela Matos. The visual follows the star as she walks through a strip club and enjoying a lap dance prior to taking to the stage in an all-pink bodysuit decked in jewels as she dances alone.
‘La Nena’ is the latest in a litany of Becky G collaborations with Peso Pluma on “Chanel,” Omega on “Arranca,” and Fuerza Régida on “Te Quiero Besar.”
In May, the superstar singer (born Rebbeca Marie Gomez) announced Mi Casa, Tu Casa, her first solo North American tour with stops in sixteen cities, starting in Boston (9.14) in time for Latinx Heritage Month, before it heads to cities including Orlando, San Antonio, El Paso, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
