Karol G + The Latin American Music Awards

On Thursday night (4.20) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Karol G was the big winner at the 2023 Latin American Music Awards.

In total, the Colombian-born artist took home eight trophies including Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year (for $trip Love), Streaming Artist of the Year and Best Pop Song for ‘Provenza.’

Born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, Karol G was unable to attend the event, however, her MAMII collaborator Becky G accepted the statuettes for Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year for their girl power anthem. 

In addition to winning four awards herself, Becky G (born Rebbeca Gomez) said “This is bigger than us. This is girl power. Thank you to the fans for supporting us,” during her acceptance speech.

Alongside the women winners, Bad Bunny won Album of the Year and Best Album – Urban for ‘Un Verano Sin Ti,’ Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd was named Best Crossover Artist, winner for Collaboration Crossover of the Year for ‘La Fama,’ with Rosalía, and Shakira was also a double winner, taking home prizes for Best Artist – Pop and Best Collaboration – Tropical for ‘Monotonía’ with Ozuna.
