The wünderkind behind the Beach Boys biggest hits, Brian Wilson is now suffering from “a major neurocognitive disorder.”
According to report by The Blast, Wilson’s team have requested the iconic musician be placed under a conservatorship given his current mental condition.
According to the filing, the now 81-year-old iconic musician is now suffering from a “major neurocognitive disorder (such as dementia)” that has rendered him unable to take care of himself.
The report also stated that Wilson is unable to take the appropriate medication, nor does he have the capacity to make informed decisions about his own care.
Brian Wilson co-founded the Beach Boys and co-wrote many of their greatest hits, including ‘Good Vibrations’ and ‘God Only Know,’ and he’s spoken publicly about his mental health issues, including mild manic depression and auditory hallucinations.
Last month, Brian’s wife of 28 years, Melinda, passed away at the of 77.
