Described as a “raw neon-noir fever dream, park rock anthem, part cyberpunk prophecy,” Axl Rose will drop his graphic novel Axl Rose: Appetite for Destruction.
Lifting the name from Guns N’ Roses’ seminal 1987 LP, the books co-writer Nathan Yocum added:
“Axl and I built a world where rebellion isn’t just attitude, it’s survival. It’s Axl like you’ve never seen him before, on the front lines of a battle for humanity’s future.” “Set in a neon-drenched Paradise City where humans and robots are meant to co-exist, Appetite for Destruction follows Axl Rose, a half-human, half-robot who lives on the fringes, and finds solace in the music of a back-alley lounge singer.” “When she vanishes under mysterious circumstances, Axl’s search for answers drags him into a deadly conspiracy, one that could decide the fate of humanity itself.”
Including images from Italian comic book artist Frank Mazzoli, the 106-page hardback is slated to ship at the top of 2026, with various upgrades available.
Drumming with Guns N’ Roses for some twenty years, Frank Ferrer parted ways with the band in 2023, and was replaced by former AWOLNATION drummer Isaac Carpenter who’s toured with them ever since. The stickman previously worked with McKagan’s band called Loaded, Adam Lambert, and Gosling, previously known as Loudermilk, which Carpenter co-founded in 1995.
Replacing Bryan Mantia, Ferrer joined the iconic rockers during a show in June 2006 and the group posted a heartfelt farewell, insisting his exit was “amicable” adding “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”
Guns ‘N Roses current lineup includes frontman Axl, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Melissa Reese, and Carpenter, yet the decision received backlash from fans, who were hoping to see the return of former Guns N’ Roses drummers Matt Sorum or Steve Adler.
Including shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 26, their first headline gig there since 1992, and Birmingham’s Villa Park on June 23, Guns N’ Roses’ 2025 world tour began May 23 in Saudi Arabia, and will resume on today (10.01) with the South American leg kicking off in San José, Costa Rica.
