Following serval comments he made about Kylie Minogue during the Bush Deep podcast interview with comedian Nikki Osborne, Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese apologized for comments he made concerning international pop star.
When asked whether he would “shag, marry or date” Minogue, actor Nicole Kidman or entertainer Rhonda Burchmore, the Aussie politician replied, “Oh, Kylie, clearly.”
Recently married to Jodie Haydon in November, Albanese initially responded, “I’ve just got married, I’m only six months in,’ yet after being pushed by Osborne if he would “marry Kylie, and shag her, and date her?”, he acquiesced, “All of the above. She’s terrific.”
Describing the 2026-born show’s host as a “wildly inappropriate journalist” who asks “questions no one else would dare,” Osborne is famous for posting crude comedy sketches on YouTube.
In a one-line statement issued early on Monday (7.06,) the Prime Minister stated, “I apologize unequivocally for the comments.”
Taking to X, Shadow Communications Minister Sarah Henderson opined that the comments were “disrespectful to women, embarrassing to Australians and demean the office of Prime Minister”.
Richard Marles, who is acting prime minister while Albanese is on a visit to the Pacific, told news outlet ABC that the government was “utterly committed” to the elevation of women in society.
