Taking to social media, Mexican broadcaster Hoy confirmed the death of Argentinian singer Fede Dorcaz, writing:
“We join the pain that bears his entire family, his parents and his girlfriend, Mariana Ávila.” “Fede leaves a big void in our team. His memory and passion will continue to inspire us forever. Rest in Peace Fede Dorcaz.”
Several days before his death, Dorcaz signed up for the new season of Las Strellas Bailan, the Mexican version of Dancing With the Stars. And, according to multiple reports, the musician was shot dead while driving in Mexico City on the way home from dance rehearsals. Local news outlets reported that authorities believe he was involved in an attempted robbery and an investigation is currently ongoing.
Hours later, Ávila broke her silence on Instagram about her partner’s death, stating:
“I love you with all my heart, like I tell you every day.” “Baby boy, come back, please. I don’t want to spend another day without you.”
Performing ten sold-out 2024 concerts in Mexico and releasing such hits as ‘No Eres Tú’ and ‘Cara Bonita, Dorcaz was a rising star in the Latin pop industry. The musician’s debut full length, Instinto, dropped earlier this year.
