During her Grammy Award acceptance speech for Record of the Year, Miley Cyrus left her dad Billy Ray Cyrus out of her acceptance speech amid feud rumors.
Taking to the stage to accept her trophy for ‘Flowers,’ Miley thanked her loved ones and fans for their support, yet appeared to snub her fellow musician father, stating:
“This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.” “So please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important, right guys?” and continued by thanking “everyone that’s standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael and Greg. Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look.”
After her initial speech, the superstar singer/songwriter turned to her team on stage and asked, “Anyone else? Your wife, your fiancée, all the people that we love. Thank you all so much,” adding “I don’t think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”
Fans of the now-31 year old hitmaker were quick to notice that she left her father out of the speech. In 2023, it was rumored that the Cyrus family was embroiled in a feud after Miley’s siblings Noah Cyrus and Braison Cyrus appeared to skip their mother Tish Cyrus’ wedding to Dominic Purcell.
