After only four months of marriage, Zac Brown and his wife Kelly Yazdi are getting divorced.
On Friday (12.29,) the Zac Brown Band frontman and his spouse released a joint statement to Billboard writing “We are in the process of divorce.” “Our mutual respect for one another remains. We wish each other the best and will always appreciate our time together. As we navigate this personal matter, we simply request privacy during this time.”
It was a year ago this month that Billboard reported that Brown was engaged to the actress/model/stuntwoman, and last month TMZ confirmed that the duo had secretly wed on August 31 in Coweta County, Georgia.
Previously married to Shelly Brown from 2006 to 2018, with whom he shares five children, daughters Justice, Lucy, Georgia and Joni and son Alexander, this was the musician’s second time at the alter.
As the co-founder and lead singer of the Zac Brown Band, the superstar singer/songwriter has secured 34 hits on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, including 17 top 10s and eight #1s, starting with their breakthrough smash “Chicken Fried” in 2008. Formed in 2002, the group has scored three Grammys, including best new artist in 2010.
