Performing “DJ Play a Christmas Song” Cher headlined this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Closing out the parade at 77 years of age, the iconic singer performed her latest club culture single at the 97th annual turkey day tradition that officially brings in the yuletide season.
In October, the legendary entertainer dropped Christmas, her first-ever holiday full length, featuring duets with Darlene Love, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé and Tyga. What she’s called “not your mother’s Christmas album,” the festive offering is Cher’s 27th album and the first since 2018’s Dancing Queen, a collection of ABBA covers inspired by her cameo in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, that debuted at #3 on the Billboard Albums Chart.
