On Saturday night (10.21,) Snoop Dogg was joined on stage by actors Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly during the Best Night of Your Life 2 benefit show, to perform “Boats ‘N Hoes,” the song originally sung by the characters Dale and Brennan in their 2008 comedy ‘Brothers’.
Following the trio rapping a verse of “Boats ‘N Hoes,” the actors and the the musician broke into Snoop’s 1994 classic, “Gin and Juice.”
Before the iconic rapper left the stage, Reilly told the Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre crowd – in a video shared to Snoop’s Instagram – that Dogg had celebrated his 52nd birthday the day before, stating “Yesterday was a very special day.” “It was Mr. Snoop Dogg’s birthday. We’re about to sing happy birthday to the greatest rapper in the world!”
The video shows Ferrell wheeling out a giant cake for the rapper, who uses the birthday candles to light a joint. “That’s what I’m talking about,” Reilly said, as the crowd launched into “Happy Birthday,” followed by Snoop blowing out his candles.
In September, Snoop teamed up with Chris Stapleton and drummer Cindy Blackman Santana to remake Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” for ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
Ferrell recently got behind the decks at the Sigma Alpha Mu frat, ahead of the school’s football game against the University of Arizona. Videos circulated online of Ferrell dropping bangers like Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “N***as in Paris,” clapping along with Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” and blasting the official millennial/Gen Z national anthem, the Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.”
