The latest in a long list of musician’s lending their talents to Dolly Parton‘s rock album, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx has confirmed playing bass guitar on one of the 77-year-old country pop legend’s upcoming LP that she’s recording after her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
About his contribution, the iconic bass guitarist (born Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna Jr.,) tweeted “Played bass on a song for Dolly Parton yesterday. Been back in the gym again to beat the jet-lag from the tour and enjoying family time. Had a great interview with Sweden Rock magazine and they might even feature some of my street photography.”
In addition to Sixx’s collab, Parton’s forthcoming album features a duet with Elton John on his 1974 hit ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’, and Paul McCartney’s Beatles classic ‘Let it Be’.
Hoping to also include Cher on her LP, Dolly also confirmed that her goddaughter Miley Cyrus would “definitely” be on the record, saying “We’re definitely going to have her on” and Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks will also feature, with ‘9 to 5’ singer adding “Stevie Nicks … we just finished our song last night.”
During a recent appearance on ‘The View’, when was asked about Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, Parton replied: “Well I’m doing my best to try and get him on [‘Rock Star’]. “But I did his song anyway.” adding “I think Pink and Brandi Carlile are gonna be singing on that particular song [the Stones’ ‘Satisfaction’] with me.”
