The featured actress in Respect, the forthcoming moving about Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson has teased a new song she co-wrote for the film.
Co-written by Hudson, Carole King, and Jamie Hartman, the film’s lone original song will be “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” was producer by Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame. “Music was always what brought Aretha back home, and this song is our tribute to her incredible journey,” Hudson said with a preview of the song on Instagram.
Directed by Lisel Tommy, Respect will be released in theaters on August 13th with “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” to be published on Friday (6.18)
