Proof positive that fashion trends come and go but self-love never goes out of style, Lil Nas X has partnered up with UGG and the Pacific Pride Foundation for their #UGGPride Campaign as a celebration of identity and artistic expression.
Taking an active role leading up to Pride 2021, it’s a turning point in SONY Music artist’s life as he prepares for his forthcoming album, his guest appearance on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, and is also one of the featured hosts of this year’s Pacific Pride “PROUD Prom,” an online gathering for local LGBTQ+ and associated teens from Santa Barbara and the coastal areas of California.
Having already demonstrated a unique sense of style, the two-time Grammy nominee says the UGG collaboration made sense for him. The rapper admits his recent passion for clothing, and that collaborating with UGG was an inevitable evolution in both his career and his identity. Being an ambassador for Pride feels “pretty great,” said Nas X after recently addressing the challenges of coming out in the music industry as the world for LGBTQ+ musicians change.
Along with sponsoring the ‘PROUD Prom,’ UGG is also launching a limited-edition line of all-gender sneakers and accessories in Pride-inspired colors, including the Disco Stripes Slides. The company will donate $25 to GLAAD for every pair of Disco Stripe slides sold, up to a cumulative guaranteed donation of $125,000.
