During an unexpected backstage ceremony RAYE was officially presented with two prestigious Guinness World Records titles.
On Wednesday (5.20,) immediately following her “This Tour May Contain New Music” performance, the global authority on record-breaking achievements presented the British-born chanteuse with her official certificates at The O2 in London.
Returning to the same venue where she initially rewrote British music history, the musician (born Rachel Agatha Keen) was officially recognized for achieving the most BRIT Award nominations in a single year, with seven nominations, as well as the most BRIT Awards won in a single year, walking away with six trophies during the 2024 ceremony.
RAYE’s historic run began when she dominated the 44th BRIT Awards, earning nominations for British Album of the Year for her independent debut My 21st Century Blues, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, Best R&B Act, and Best New Artist. In the weeks following, she took home six trophies in one evening, along with Songwriter of the Year, marking the most dominant single-year performance by any artist in the history of the BRITs.
Stating that holding both records simultaneously is a remarkable milestone in British music history, World Records adjudicator Emma Salt praised the singer’s extraordinary trajectory, adding that it felt incredibly fitting to surprise RAYE at The O2, where fans were actively celebrating her music.
The presentation caps off a landmark chapter for the 27-year old singer, arriving just ahead of Guinness World Records opening its very first permanent entertainment venue at The O2 later this year. Scheduled to launch in late 2026, the upcoming destination will combine competitive socializing with live record-breaking challenges, allowing visitors to attempt their own official titles.
