Trey Songz Arrested

After allegedly punching a Manhattan nightclub employee in the early hours of December 4, Trey Songz has been arrested.

Appearing in court on Sunday (12.14,) the singer/songwriter was arraigned on an assault charge with prosecutors claiming the defendant (born Tremaine Neverson) became “needlessly irate” when he was asked to leave the Dramma nightclub, and attacked the staff member, causing “swelling and substantial pain”.

Not his first brush with the law, the R&B artist is facing an additional charge of mischief in the second degree from a separate incident that allegedly took place at the Mira restaurant the very same morning with lawyers alleging he broke around $1,500.00 worth of property at the site.

In defense of his client, Neverson’s lawyer, Mitchelle Schuster, insisted that that the entertainer is cooperating with investigators, stating:

“His security intervened to protect him and contain the situation, and an altercation occurred in the ensuring confusion. Despite being the target of the initial provocation, Trey was arrested.” “Public figures are often treated as targets for instigation in pursuit of headlines or financial gain. Trey is cooperating fully in both matters, and we are confident the full context and facts will come to light.”

Scheduled to appear in court again on February 18, 2026, this is not the first time the 41-year old has been accused of physical battery. In 2016, Neverson was charged with felony assault of a police officer and misdemeanor aggravated assault for injuring a photographer. He pleaded guilty to two reduced counts and was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
