Trey Songz Settles Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Though he denied all accusations, Trey Songz has settled a 2021 lawsuit relating to an alleged nightclub incident where Jauhara Jeffries accused the R&B singer of groping her at a venue in Miami, Florida on New Year’s Eve in 2018.

Born Tremaine Neverson, the musician was accused of assault and battery and in her filing, the plaintiff alleged he non-consensually penetrated her with his fingers while they were on the dance floor.

Scheduled to go to trial in October, on Wednesday (9.10,) editors at Billboard reported that the matter had been settled out of court, though no further details were shared.

According to Judge Antonio Arzola’s order “This court has been advised that the matter has been settled as to all parties and therefore, it is hereby ordered and adjudged that this case is dismissed.’ “The court reserves jurisdiction to enforce the settlement and to enter orders necessary to this enforcement.”

Not the first time Songz has been accused of sexual misconduct, in 2022, the artist settled a lawsuit filed against him by a woman who claimed he sexually assaulted her at a 2016 party, and he is expected to go on trial in 2026 relating to a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him for an alleged 2021 incident. The Virginia native is expected to testify during the trial, which is slated to begin on 16 March.
