Helping first responders during the Los Angeles wildfires has been the “best part” of his week, according to The Game.
On Sunday (1.12), the The California-born rapper took to social media to thank everyone involved in combating the blazes that continue to canvas much of the Los Angeles area. Determined to help the cause, the musician has been handing out food, blankets, pillows, coffee and water to those in need.
Posting several photos of relief workers, the singer (born Jayceon Terrell Taylor) captioned:
“Waking up these past few mornings & preparing to do whatever I can for my city & to help these guys has been the best part of my week.” “Los Angeles is an amazing city & together we will restore the city one helping hand at a time.” “I can’t thank you guys enough for coming from all over the country to help our own firefighter’s & putting your lives on the line for us.”
Alongside a video, The Game also told followers he and his crew headed to one neighborhood affected by fire to rescued animal, which they then dropped off at a shelter, adding “I am here for Los Angeles & I will always be here to do my part.”
The now 45-year-old rapper from Compton revealed that he was in awe of the rescue workers’ bravery, writing “They kept thanking me for being here… and in my mind I’m like, “No, THANK YOU !!!” for doing the unimaginable in a time of pure terror & despair.”
In addition to The Game, Latin group Fuerza Regida rented an entire hotel over the weekend for displaced homeowners, and Beyonce’s foundation has donated $2,500,000.00 to those affected by the wildfires.
