Billie Eilish’s Tiny Desk Show: Look + Listen

On Thursday (12.12,) NPR Music shared the long-awaited Billie Eilish Tiny Desk performance.

In between songs Eilish told lucky NPR employees “Wow. This is nerve-wracking.” “Tiny Desk. This is so cool, I’ve wanted to do this my whole life, so I’m a little shaky. I’m really excited to be here.”

Accompanied by her brother Finneas and a small backing band, Billie sang “The Greatest,” “L’Amour de Ma Vie,” and a set-closing take on her hit “Birds of a Feather” from her current Hit Me Hard and Soft LP as well as “I Love You” off her 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

“We’re gonna do an old one,” said the multi-Grammy and Oscar award winner before “I Love You.” “This is one of our favorite songs that we’ve written… The first time I fell in love, it was very scary, and it’s funny how that fear never goes away, the feeling of falling of whatever.”

Before her acoustic version of “Birds of a Feather,” the superstar singer/songwriter confirmed that the single just went #1. Dropped in in July, the title was one of the summer’s biggest tunes and has received 2025 Grammy nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Hit Me Hard and Soft, and its tracks, has earned a total of seven Grammy nods, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
