Quincy Jones Laid To Rest

On Sunday (11.10,) during a private funeral ceremony for his immediate family, music legend Quincy Jones was laid to rest in Los Angeles.

A week prior, on Sunday (11.03,) the 91-year-old iconic music producer/bandleader/composer/arranger died at home with his family telling The Associated Press that the “intimate ceremony included Mr. Jones’ seven children, his brother, two sisters, and immediate family members”.

While his relatives did not specify where the ceremony took place, they confirmed that a public celebration of Quincy’s life is being planned and that the memorial details “will be announced at a later date.

Expressing their appreciation for the public’s support for the music giant, the family said that they remain “enormously grateful for the outpouring of condolences and tributes from his friends and fans from around the world”.

Throughout his seven-decade long career, the American musician contributed to the sale of millions upon millions of records, having collaborated with the likes of Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Donna Summer.

Married three times with seven children, including his famous actress daughter Rashida Jones, the former Parks and Recreation star paid tribute to her dad on social media alongside an Instagram throwback photo days before the funeral, writing:

“He made everyone he ever met feel loved and seen. That’s his legacy.” “I was fortunate enough to experience this love in close proximity. I’ll miss his hugs and kisses and unconditional devotion and advice. Daddy, it is an honor to be your daughter. Your love lives forever.”

In lieu of flowers, they’re asked people to donate to the Jazz Foundation of America.
