1960’s Icon Tommy James Ends Vegas Residency Due To Exhaustion

“Due to exhaustion,” Tommy James was forced to pause his recent Las Vegas concert an hour into his performance.

On March 7, as the 1960s icon was singing ‘Do Something to Me’ at the Golden Nugget casino in Nevada, the Shondells frontman had to curtail the show and take a breather before completing his 90-minute set.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the legendary singer’s representative Carol Ross-Durboro confirmed the reason for the early finish, and added that he had been up early for his five-hour flight to Vegas, and confirmed he was now back in New Jersey and doing “fine working on his Sirius XM radio show” ‘Gettin Together with Tommy James’.

Following the incident, the now 77-year-old star was treated by paramedics on-site and was given the thumbs up to leave the venue.

The famous frontman of the rock band had a series of hits in the ’60s with ‘Mony Mony’, ‘Crimson and Clover’ and ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’.

Over 300 musicians have since recorded renditions of his songs with three of the covers reaching the Top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 chart in the 1980s including Joan Jett’s ‘Crimson and Clover’, Tiffany’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’, and Billy Idol’s ‘Mony Mony’.

Tommy James has released 12 solo studio albums as well as eight albums with the Shondells and on March 15 the group will take stage in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
