Reportedly seeking treatment from a world-leading cardiologist and unable to honor his prior television commitment due to “doctor’s recommendations,” Zayn Malik cancelled his forthcoming appearance on The Tonight Show.
Recently hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment, the former One Direction member was scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night talk and variety show on Tuesday (4.21,) to promote his fifth studio album, Konnakol.
In the hospital since last Friday (4.17,) the 33-year old singer/songwriter took to social media with a photo of himself in a hospital bed and the caption “Thank you to all of you for your love & support now and always.”
Expressing his appreciation to the hospital staff, including nurses and cardiologists, who helped him, the British-born musician added “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week.” “I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”
Scheduled to appear at the Rough Trade Below store in New York City on Monday, Malik is scheduled to kick off his tour in May at the AO Arena in Manchester, UK, through to November 20 when it wraps in Miami.
