Amidst the cavalcade of superstars who agreed to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw on Friday (12.05,) Tony Award-winning actor/singer Nicole Scherzinger, Grammy-nominated tenor Andrea Bocelli, global music superstar Robbie Williams and Disco icons Village People headlined the event.
Taking place at the John F Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, Heidi Klum, Kevin Hart and Danny Ramirez shared co-hosting duties, as the ‘YMCA’ hitmakers Village People closed the year in the same city they performed in for several events around President Trump’s second inauguration.
The FIFA World Cuo Final Draw performance came at the end of a banner year for Scherzinger who took home the Tony Award for best performance by a leading actress in a musical for Sunset Boulevard.
No stranger to the World Cup, Bocelli has headlined the Celebrate Africa concert in Johannesburg, South Africa, two days before the final of the FIFA World Cup of 2010.
Fresh off his Oscar-nominated Better Man biopic, Williams’ performance arrived just a few months prior to his 13th studio album, Britpop, slated for a February release.
Unfolding between June 11 and July 19 July of 2026, the Final Draw confirms the matchups for the 48-team World Cup, with the United States serving as the main host, along with Canada and Mexico co-hosting.
Alongside award-winning British broadcaster and sports journalist Samantha Johnson, former England football captain Rio Ferdinand will conduct the draw, along with several cross-sports icons, including NFL’s Tom Brady, NBA’s Shaquille O’Neill, ice hockey great Wayne Gretzky and New York Yankees baseball player Aaron Judge.
