UK Releases Spice Girls Stamp Collection

British music fans will are prepped to spice up their mail next week when Royal Mail unveils a collection of 15 new postage stamps in celebration of the Spice Girls.

Released in tandem with the famous British female band’s three-decade anniversary, the stamps showcase key moments in the band’s career.

While this is the very first time Royal Mail has dedicated an entire stamp collection to a female pop group, it marks the sixth time musicians have been featured in a dedicated stamp issue, following the Beatles (2007,) Pink Floyd (2016,) Queen (2020,) the Rolling Stones (2022,) and Iron Maiden in 2023.

The main set of Spice Girls 10 postage stamps feature memorable images of the superstar girl group and individual live performances between 1997 thru 2012, including the quintet performing during the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Geri Halliwell performing at the BRIT Awards in 1997, and Victoria Beckham performing during the Return of the Spice Girls Tour at Madison Square Garden in 2008. The collection also includes a sheet of five stamps featuring individual images of the singers from their Spice World photoshoot.

In a statement about their soon-to-be released stamp collection, the ladies stated “We are so excited to be celebrated by Royal Mail, alongside some of the most iconic and influential music legends.” “When we formed the Spice Girls we couldn’t have dreamt that 30 years later we would be the first female group to be dedicated an entire stamp collection, that’s Girl Power!”
