Though he’s yet to decide, Donald Trump revealed that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs asked him for a pardon.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, the president said, “A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy. He has asked me for a pardon.”
Sentenced to four years in prison on Friday (10.03,) the embattled musician was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
In July, Deadline reported that Trump was considering a pardon for Combs, and in an August interview with Newsmax, the president stated, “Well, he was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent. Probably. I was very friendly with him, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile, and it’s hard. So, I don’t know, it’s more difficult.”
When asked by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins whether or not he would pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Donald replied “I’d have to take a look at it.” “I wouldn’t consider it or not consider it. I don’t know anything about it. I will speak to the DOJ.”
Maxwell is currently serving time for her conviction on sex-trafficking charges, and on Monday (10.06,) the Supreme Court declined to hear her appeal.
