Timberlake Pleads Not Guilty To DWI Charge

On Friday (I 8.02,) during his virtual court appearance, Justin Timberlake pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated.

After having been arrested in June in Sag Harbor, New York and charged with one count of DWI and issued two citations (one for driving past a stop sign and one for failing to remain in his car lane,) the superstar singer/songwriter appeared at a virtual court hearing and entered a plea of not guilty to a revised misdemeanor charge of drunk driving.

At the online hearing, Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace suspended Timberlake’s driver’s license, forbidding him to operate a vehicle in the state of New York for some six months, and the magistrate also threatened Edward Burke, the musician’s lawyer, with a gag order for remarks he made to reporters outside of court last week.

“It comes off as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins,” said Irace after Burke told journalists that Timberlake “was not intoxicated” when he was pulled over on June 18 and accused police officers of making “very significant errors” in the case, prompting him to call for a dismissal.

According to Deadline, during Friday’s hearing Burke withdrew his earlier motion to dismiss the case . The next hearing is due to take place on Friday August 9.

Now 43-years old, Justin Timberlake appeared via video link from Antwerp, Belgium, where he will perform later today (8.03) S and tomorrow night (8.04) as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
