The Weeknd Teases Ariana Grande Collab

After revisiting their previous tracks on social media, The Weeknd hinted that another collaboration with Ariana Grande might be on the way.

Taking to his Instagram Stories account to share a screenshot listing all four of their past collaborations – ‘Love Me Harder, ‘off the table,’ ‘Save Your Tears (Remix),’ and ‘Die For You (Remix),’ – the 326-year old superstar singer/songwriter added five explosion emojis, which fans quickly interpreted as a nod to their four existing songs together and a possible fifth release.

With a long history of successful team-ups to their credit, their debut collaboration ‘Love Me Harder,’ became a major hit in 2014. They reunited on Grande’s 2020 ‘Off the Table,’ from her Positions LP, and they subsequently scored back-to-back global hits with the remixes of ‘Save Your Tears’ and ‘Die For You,’ which surged up the charts following their releases.

By recording a new verse for his track ‘Die For You’ while filming Wicked, Ariana helped push one of The Weeknd’s biggest hits back to the top of the charts in 2023. The updated version reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and at the time, Grande explained that she had squeezed the recording into an intense production schedule, writing, “Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14 hour day on set. This certain exception had to be made….”

While neither musician has officially confirmed a new track, The Weeknd’s post sparked widespread speculation that another joint single is imminent.

In an interview with Vogue Japan, Grande said “I think that it would probably be healthy. I’m not used to taking breaks.” “But I do know that I grew so much from taking space from music while I was filming Wicked … But yeah, these past few years have been pretty non-stop. And by few, I mean 15.”
