The 2016 winner of The Voice, Sundance Head is recovering from a gunshot wound after an incident took place on his rural ranch in Texas when he was airlifted to the hospital after paramedics were able to get him in stable condition.
According to Trey Newman to TMZ, the country singer’s agent said that his client had been shot in the navel area of his stomach and that the musician himself called 911 after being shot.
“(The bullet) missed all vital organs. It was not self-inflicted.” “We don’t know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby,” reported Newman to the New York Post.
Trey added that Head’s wife, Misty, had confirmed that the bullet was lodged in the fatty area of her husband’s stomach and that she has asked for prayers from his fans during this difficult time.
While Sundance is known to go hunting on his ranch, at press time the shooting is being called an accident.
Prior to winning The Voice eight years ago with Blake Shelton as his coach, Head was also a semi-finalist American Idol in 2007 when his run on the show ended after being eliminated one week before the finals.
