Concurrent with sharing their new single ‘Motoroller,’ the Pixies have announced a 2025 UK and European tour.
The iconic rockers will start their trek in Utrecht, Netherlands on April 25 and will also play in Belgium, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal before performing their first UK show in Aberdeen on May 13.
The Great Britain tour will include nine dates around the country, including a night at O2 Academy Edinburgh and two nights at London’s O2 Brixton Academy along with performances in Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester.
Comprised of frontman Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Emma Richardson, the band’s announcement comes after they blew fans away in August with a “raucous” show at London’s All Points East festival.
In addition to announcing their 2025 plans, the Pixies dropped ‘Motoroller,’ their new single from their forthcoming full length ‘The Night The Zombies Came,’ and about the track that follows Francis on a scooter ride across Berlin, the musician said:
“This is one of those kinds of songs where there’s little threads you can follow and they take you somewhere. But they’re not required for the experience.” “You can just start fishing around in the lyrics, and maybe you won’t find exactly what the story is, but you’ll find a story related to the city of Berlin. So just have fun with the clues that are there.”
