The Paul McCartney Documentary

Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, a definitive new feature documentary directed by the multi-award-winning Morgan Neville (Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy winner), seeks to answer that question, What happens after you leave the most influential rock band in history?

The Creative Rebirth of a Legend

Tracing the iconic musician’s journey from the painful dissolution of The Beatles to the meteoric rise of Wings, the forthcoming documentary focuses on the transformative decade of the 1970s. Utilizing a “uniquely vulnerable lens,” Neville explores McCartney’s musical reinvention alongside his late wife, Linda McCartney.

Features deeply personal interviews with Paul himself, alongside his daughters Mary and Stella McCartney, former Wings members, and peers including Mick Jagger, Chrissie Hynde, and Sean Ono Lennon, the documentary is enriched by stunning archival footage and Linda’s own intimate photography.

An Exclusive Cinema Experience

With each screening to include an exclusive bonus conversation between Paul McCartney and Morgan Neville that will not be available in later releases, fans attending the theatrical event will be treated to more than just the feature film. And for those unable to make the cinematic event in person, the film will begin streaming on Prime Video in over 240 countries starting February 27.

The Wings Renaissance

The film promises to serve as the centerpiece of a major revival for McCartney’s 70s catalogue. Following the 2025 release of the oral history Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run and a career-spanning 3 album anthology, the documentary provides the visual narrative to a period that saw the now 83-year old legend go from “growing up” to once again becoming one of the biggest-selling acts on the planet.

Released by Trafalgar Releasing, the film will debut in select cinemas worldwide for one night only on Thursday, February 19th, and tickets for the one-day cinema event go on sale Wednesday, February 4th at 2pm GMT via manontherun.film.
