Superstar tennis player, Serena Williams and U.S. President Donald Trump have chimed in on Taylor Swift getting booed at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
After she appeared on the jumbotron during football’s biggest game at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the superstar singer/songwriter received boos from the crowd.
In footage that has since gone viral on social media, Swift simply brushes off the boos by giving a side-eye to the camera and comically looking around as she smiles at her rapper friend Ice Spice and appears to ask another friend, “What’s going on?”
Shortly after the crowd’s reaction to Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor’s gal pal friend Serena Williams (who made a dancing cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show) showed her support for the multi-Grammy winner on X with “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo (sic)!!”
The antithesis of Williams, Trump took a drastically different approach and trolled Swift by posting side-by-side clips on Truth Social showing the Super Bowl crowd cheering for him and booing for her, along with “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
While Trump falsely claimed that it was his supporters who booed Swift (who endorsed his rival Kamala Harris in 2024 for president,) the fact is that Taylor was chastised by Philadelphia Eagles fans for her dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
Following their crushing 40-22 defeat, Kelce spoke to reporters in the locker room and admitted the team “haven’t played that bad all year” adding “You don’t lose like that without everything going bad.” “(We) just couldn’t find that spark, we couldn’t find that momentum.”
