On Monday (10.31) Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first artist whose music has occupied the entire top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
The first musician to achieve the Top 10 pop chart monopoly in music periodical’s 64-year history, the previous record of chart songs by a single artist was held by Drake, who owned nine of the Hot 100’s top 10 songs for one week in September 2021.
Released on October 10, all 10 songs on the Billboard 100 chart this week are from Swift’s Midnights LP with ‘Anti-Hero,’ the album’s lead single, sitting at #1 and Taylor tweeting, “10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES.”
Along with with album debuting at #1 on Billboard’s 200 LP chart, with 10 more songs on the top 10 list, the superstar singer/songwriter has become the female artist with the most top 10 titles in the chart’s history at 40, surpassing Madonna’s 38.
With ‘Anti-Hero’ becoming the musician’s ninth first-place song, she’s one of sixteen acts with nine or more #1’s, and one of seven female solo artists to achieve this. Only The Beatles have more #1 titles with 20.
Confirming on Tuesday morning (11.01) her first official tour in nearly five years, Ms Swift is headed back on the road, announcing the U.S. leg of her 2023 “Eras” tour.
